You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams and will act as a key interface between design engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations (testing and launch).

Tasks & missions

Your responsibilities will include:

Industrialization & Manufacturing Engineering

  • Develop and maintain industrial documentation for the launch vehicle and its subsystems
  • Define, optimize, and formalize assembly sequences and work instructions
  • Define, procure, and qualify the tooling and jigs required for assembly and integration
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) expertise to the design office
  • Contribute to Make-or-Buy strategy decisions

M-AIT Operational Leadership

Integration & Testing

  • Validate acceptance reports prior to transfer to test or launch sites

  • Professional proficiency in English required
  • Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) in mechanical, aerospace, space engineering, or a related field

As a Test Quality Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all testing activities comply with quality standards and procedures. You will participate in the planning, execution, and monitoring of tests, performing inspections and verifications to validate the conformity, reliability, and safety of components and systems. The responsibilities will include:

  • Apply Quality Management System standards (ISO 9001) to testing, inspection, and validation activities within the Test department.
  • Participate in design reviews to anticipate testing and inspection requirements, providing critical input on the feasibility of controls considering available test resources and metrology equipment.
  • Contribute to the definition of technical specifications and requirements for equipment needed for testing (fluid, electrical, mechanical) and associated inspection tools.
  • Ensure the reception and conformity checks of equipment, components, and sub-assemblies required for testing activities, including document verification, visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.
  • Monitor the status and compliance of test and measurement equipment: periodic verification, maintenance, regulatory checks, and updating of tracking records.
  • Manage the Test department’s metrology inventory, including tracking internal and external calibrations, verifying measurement instrument compliance, and monitoring associated indicators.
  • Participate in managing non-conformities and anomalies identified during inspections or tests, collaborating with the Product Quality Engineer for analysis and follow-up (supplier or internal).
  • Contribute to maintaining traceability of test and inspection operations (test reports, TQC, plans, BOMs, control records).
  • Assist in drafting and improving operational quality procedures and processes related to testing: technical specifications, test procedures, inspection work instructions, and the maintenance and monitoring of test resources.

You will work closely with the design office to support product industrialization. The Head of Structure & Mechanics Systems leads the engineering team responsible for the design, development, and qualification of the launch vehicle structures, mechanical systems (stage & fairing separation, etc.), thermal control and ground support infrastructure (launch table, supports, etc.). You act as the Technical Authority for your perimeter, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and optimized systems from concept to launch.

Tasks & missions

Main Activities :

·        Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow the Structure, Mechanics, and Thermal engineering team, managing priorities and developing internal expertise.

·        Technical Authority: Own the technical architecture, design baselines, and requirements for all flight and ground structures, mechanisms, and thermal systems.

·        Development & V&V: Define and drive the technical development logic and the Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy from concept to final qualification.

·        Project Execution: Ensure the successful execution of engineering activities and hardware delivery, meeting rigorous quality, cost, and schedule targets.

·        Supply Chain Technical Leadership: Act as the Technical Authority during supplier evaluation, selection, and performance oversight for structural and mechanical components.

·        Manufacturing & Delivery: Guarantee the qualification of manufacturing and assembly processes, oversee safety/RAMS analyses, and pronounce final System Acceptance.

 

Internal and External Interactions:

·        Internal: Seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Propulsion, Avionics, and MAIT (Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing).

·        External: Technical leadership in interactions with hardware suppliers, manufacturing subcontractors, test facilities, and potential regulatory bodies.

Preferred experience & skills

Degree and training : 

Education: Master’s Degree (MSc) or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

Certifications/Training (Nice to have): Formal training in Systems Engineering or familiarity with international space/aerospace or mechanical engineering standards is highly desirable.

 

Experience : 

Industry Experience: 10 to 15+ years of professional experience in aerospace mechanical or structural engineering, specifically focused on launch vehicles, spacecraft, or critical ground segment structures.

Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a management or technical leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer).

Track Record: A proven history of successfully taking complex structural or mechanical systems through qualification and into operational use. Flight heritage or active participation in a launch campaign is a strong asset.

·        Deep understanding of load paths, structural dynamics (shock, vibration, acoustics), mechanical interfaces, and thermal studies & control principles for both launch vehicles and ground infrastructure.

· FPGA Design & Development:

o Design and implement FPGA architectures (Xilinx UltraScale+, Versal, Zynq, etc.) for embedded applications.

o Develop algorithms in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog, ensuring compliance with timing requirements.

· Timing Analysis & Optimization:
