While developing a Launch System, keeping track of technical requirements, interfaces information and their respect throughout the different studies and analyses is mandatory. This allows to make sure having a consistent System from the specification phase to the qualification phase.

For its development, Latitude enters an important phase of tests which results will play an important role in the remaining path to the flight. In this context, system engineering is important to keep track of technical coherence but also tests success, failures, changes of configuration, etc in order to have successful qualification and flight approval.

Tasks & missions

Integrated into the System and Mission Analysis department, you will be part of the system team working within different projects such as propulsion, launch vehicle, combined tests or ground systems development. Your mission will focus on the coherence of the development of systems and subsystems w.r.t their respective technical requirements. To do so, you will be integrated into the development teams to keep Verification Control Matrices and Statement of Compliances up to date thanks to: 

  • The analysis of technical documentation, 
  • The review and analysis of tests campaigns, 
  • Writing of Acceptance and Qualification Plans, 
  • Participation in technical milestones (PDR, CDR, QR, etc) 

 

With this position, you will learn how system engineers interact with development teams to ensure consistent system development with an overall vision of a specific product. Moreover, your mission will allow you to gain important multidomain vision and technical critical mind. Also being part of the System and Mission Analysis team, you will work closely with all aspects of the development of a Launch System (from the propulsion to the structures, from the ground systems to the trajectory and performances, from electrical to fluidic systems, from design to testing). Finally, you will learn the necessary rigor and methods to be able to grasp complex system development in your career.

Aerodynamics / CFD Senior Engineer (f/m/d)

This role involves analyzing the aerodynamic and aerothermal performance of launch vehicles across the full flight envelope, from transonic to hypersonic regimes. It relies on CFD simulations, supported by wind tunnel testing and flight data, to understand and model complex flow phenomena around the vehicle. The position also includes studying propulsion–flow interactions, contributing to vehicle geometry optimization, and supporting design teams and technical reviews.

Tasks & missions

Primary Responsibilities 

 

Aerodynamic and Aerothermal Analysis 

  • Assess aerodynamic and aerothermal performance across the entire flight envelope (transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic regimes). 
  • Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of launch vehicles and subsystems, and validate results through wind tunnel testing and flight test data. 
  • Investigate flow separation phenomena, shock waves, and shock-boundary layer interactions. 
  • Analyze the impact of external protuberances and contribute to vehicle geometry optimization. 
  • Develop and maintain the launch vehicle aerodynamic and aerothermal databases. 
  • Support the design of the vehicle venting system, including the sizing and positioning of depressurization vents. 
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation and analysis reports. 

Propulsion Systems 

  • Simulate internal flows within rocket engines. 
  • Study combustion, injection, and mixing phenomena according to program requirements. 
  • Analyze interactions between propulsion exhaust plumes and external flow fields. 
  • Evaluate thermal and mechanical loads applied to vehicle structures. 

Development and Validation 

  • Develop and improve CFD methodologies and simulation processes. 
  • Implement automated calculation, workflow, and post-processing procedures. 

Program Support 

  • Provide technical recommendations to design and engineering teams. 
  • Present technical findings and analysis results to engineering leadership and customers.

As a Test Technician, you will be responsible for setting up test stands for high-thrust rocket engines. Within a machining workshop experiencing strong growth and continuous development, you will work in a dynamic environment combining rapid prototyping for the design office, design iterations, and production ramp-up. You will be involved in manufacturing technical, often complex parts, contributing to process optimization and continuous improvement of industrial performance. This position requires versatility, precision, and adaptability in a demanding and innovative environment.

Tasks & missions

  • Read and interpret manufacturing drawings in order to produce mechanical parts, including complex components. (Datum identification, stock-to-part dimensions, dimensional transfers)
  • Develop machining process sheets and create CAM programs using SIEMENS NX software for CNC machining of metal and plastic parts.
  • Verify CAM programs to ensure drawing specifications are fully met.
  • Perform tests to confirm CAM programs run correctly on the machine before production launch.
  • Identify and procure the required cutting tools.
  • Monitor technological developments in the machining field.
  • Design, manufacture, and fine-tune machining fixtures and tooling (setups, clamping devices) in compliance with isostatic location principles.

Turbomachinery Engineer (f/m/d)

As a Turbomachinery Engineer within the Propulsion team, you will contribute to all development activities related to the fluid systems of turbopumps, from the initial design and simulation phase through to the assessment of deviations in manufactured parts, and ultimately to the validation of your work through test campaigns.

You will work closely with the Propulsion team, as well as with the Integration and Test teams to ensure that the turbopump systems developed by the company fully meet the specifications of the higher-level engine systems.
